NATIONAL LOCKDOWN UPDATE
Further to the Government announcement yesterday evening, it has been confirmed that golf courses in England are instructed to close from 5th November as part of a national lockdown until 2nd December.
Section 4 of the New National Restrictions Notice states that:
To reduce social contact, the Government has ordered certain businesses and venues to close. These include '
indoor and outdoor leisure facilities such as bowling alleys, leisure centres and gyms, sports facilities including swimming pools, golf courses and driving ranges, dance studios, stables and riding centres, soft play facilities, climbing walls and climbing centres, archery and shooting ranges, water and theme parks.
This is, of course, particularly dissapointing news for everyone. We have seen some incredible efforts in recent months from golf clubs nationwide serving their local communities and supporting the wellbeing of golfers and the general public. However, we must do what is right and serving the national interest is the priority.
Tee times for two weeks time will not be open this morning and any competitions planned for November will be looked to be moved to December. Further information will be shared as dates are confirmed.
