2024/25 Inter-Club Competitive Matches

1.   Wellesley Wealth Trophy / Wellesley Plate – Match Captain: Bill Milford

A Sussex county scratch knockout competition comprising 8 players in a club team. Home matches will be played on the Ian Woosnam Course off the White tees. Foursomes morning session, Singles afternoon session.

2.   Birchwood Trophy / Birchwood Plate – Match Captain: Scott Tracey

A Sussex County 4BBB knockout competition comprising 5 pairs in a club team. Each pair must comprise of 1 player from the Handicap Index range of 5.5 to 12.4 and 1 player from the Handicap Index range of 12.5 to 20.4.

3.   ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Cyril Blake Cup / Gilbert Print Plate – Match Captain: Alan Bigley

A Sussex County senior’s foursomes knockout competition comprising 4 pairs in a club team. Home matches will be played on the Ian Woosnam Course off the White tees. A maximum Handicap Index of 28.4 is permitted.

4.   Invicta League – Match Captain: Angus Sutton

A weekend Spring/Summer league consisting of 5 pairs in a club team. Playing 4BBB and 8 matches in total over the season, 4 home and 4 away. Home matches for 2022 will be played on the Old Course, White tees.  A maximum Handicap Index of 18 is allowed and a minimum age of 18 years. No more than 3 players with a Handicap Index of 5 or less permitted in each team. Match dates from April through to September.

5.   Sussex League of Gentlemen Golfers – Match Captain: Richard Hannam

A Seniors 4 Ball Better Ball match play competition comprising 5 pairs. Initially played in a league structure and the top two teams move into a knockout series of matches. Home matches will be played on The Old Course off the White tees. Maximum Handicap Index of 18. Referred to as the SLOGGS

6.   East Sussex League – Match Captain: Justin Scales

A midweek (late afternoon) summer league format 4BBB consisting of 4 pairs played in a six nations format of home one year and away next. Players in the top two matches should have Playing Handicaps in the range 6 – 13; while those in matches three and four should be 14 - 22.

7.   Four Hills Trophy – Match Captain: Craig Howell

A weekend stableford competition comprising 10 players per team played over 4 venues. Maximum Handicap Index of 18. No more than one junior player is permitted per match. All stableford scores count to determine the overall club winner.

8.   SusKen League – Match Captain: Scott Tracey

A weekend winter 4BBB league competition played between October and March comprising 5 pairs playing 5 matches in a six nations format of home one year and away next. Maximum Handicap Index of 18, minimum age 18 years. The competition is played through the winter months.

9.   Seniors Friendlies – Match Captain: Torsten Behling

A series of friendly matches played through-out the year against local clubs, team size can vary, and each match has a different Captain. No overall competitive league but all matches played in a competitive spirit.
